I watched this video on the hunt for the anonymous cartoonist who transformed pop culture on matttt - comic & manga history YouTube Channel

Link to the video below,



and was surprised to learn that it was Disney Cartoons and notably the Duck Comics (Donald Duck Comics) where the things that directly inspired Osamu Tezuka, the Godfather of Anime, so I guess this is y way of sharing the man behind the godfather for those that didn't know before.

And its kind of weird but I now can totally see the similarities between the Duck Comics and Manga



Anime Characters do have the features of the Ducks...

Yeah now that you mention it I can totally see the similarities and residues from early Duck comics and early manga. I knew of the fact that Tezuka took a lot of inspiration from western comics but I hadn't thought of the Duck angle before.
